Kathleen Anderson, DVM, is the founding partner of Equine Veterinary Care based at Fair Hill Training Center, in Elkton, Maryland. Dr. Anderson has spent her 35+ year career “in the trenches” caring for performance horses in thoroughbred racing and sport horses. She has served in multiple leadership roles within the equine community both locally and nationally, including stints with many committees of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP),and culminating with the 2016 AAEP presidency of that organization.
She has a special interest in equine welfare and safety and has served since 1998 as an AAEP on-call spokesperson for televised graded stakes and well as co-chair for Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation.
Her company, Equine Veterinary Care, has been an early adopter of emerging technologies and has participated as a beta test site for many products, software ideas, and business management strategies, some of which became commercial success such as mobile digital radiology and VetCove, a purchasing platform that changed the inventory management landscape.
She holds a DVM degree from Western College of Veterinary Medicine.
